Which web development tools do you use?

I'm generally interested what software other web designers use out there. I'm wondering which text editor, graphics software, browser (pick your favourite here - as many web designers use multiple versions of different browsers for development purposes ie. solving compatibility issues).

You might also include why you like the software you use - are there any features which makes you choose that particular software over another. Anyway you get the idea - to start the ball rolling, I use Photoshop since I find it easier to use than Paint Shop Pro (probably because I'm more used to it). I also to Emacs for text editing - and sometimes notepad (it's lack of line numbering really makes me wonder about Microsoft... but hey it can be convenient sometimes). As for browsing, I use Firefox with numerous extensions including the wonderful web developer toolbar.
